Dialing an extra '9' automatically on KX-TA824

Hi,

I'm using a KX-TA824 behind a centrex from Verizon.

In order to get a line out, I'm dialing '9' or choosing a free line in the "clever" phones. The problem is that the centrex requires an extra '9' for line out... Is there a way to program the PBX to dial a '9' automatically whenever a line out is selected ('9' or key)?

Many thanks!

The only way is with a fork lift upgrade. ARS is not a part of a TA-824, but it is in the TAW series.

you could try this

1st, use a spare button on a phone if you have one

2nd press programe
3th press the spare button
4th dial 99
5th press store

if it works it should when pressed pull a spare line on your system and the second line should pull a line on the second system.

another way is same as above only at 4th command dial 819 this should pull line 1 on your system then pull a line on the second system.however it may need a pause between the two 9s or the 81 and the 9 but its woth a try and costs nothing to give it a go

let us know if either work.

FORK LIFT UPGRADE is a PBX term. It means you remove the old system and install a new one

To be fair, you can make the "clever" phones dial 9,9 and be ready to dial any number. You cannot do hot line dialing from a PT. You need to put 9 in the PBX access codes of the trunk, so that the system will insert the pause after the first 9. Then, you might want to adjust the timer (203) to make the 3 second pause longer. Now, on the SLT, dial 742 99 # then 741# to turn it on.

When you pick up the handset of the SLT, you'll get a special dial tone. If you wait for whatever time programmed in 203, the system will dial the 9,9 for you and you're ready to dial whatever you want.

As mentioned above, you can program a feature button to dial 9 Pause 9 on a PT. IIRC you would dial 2 9 pause 9 store for a CO button being reprogrammed and 9 pause 9 store on a function button to program it.

Of course, if you've done the PBX access code above, you don't need the pause because the system just did it for you.

A TAW-848 doesn't need any of this crap.
