Rep Power: 0 ![]() | KXT-VM50 DTMF strings Hi all, I'm in the process of trying to make a Panasonic KXT-VM50 voicemail system work on an LG-Nortel IP-LDK-50 PBX, but I'm having some trouble deciphering what the inband signalling terms mean. On the LG-Nortel switch, the following events will be sent to a voicemail: PUT MAIL (when someone has called an extn, and it has forwarded to voicemail) GET MAIL (when someone has new messages, and is dialling the voicemail to retrieve them) BUSY (if the voicemail transfers to an extension, and this extension is busy) NO ANSWER (if the voicemail transfers to an extension, and this extension doesn't answer) ERROR (if the voicemail transfers to an extension, and the number is invalid) DND (if the voicemail transfers to an extension which is in do not disturb mode) DISCONNECT (when someone who is currently "in" the voicemail disconnects) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the panasonic voicemail system, however, the dtmf strings ('inband signalling') has the following: ringback busy reorder DND answer forward to VM ringing forward to VM busy forward to other extension confirmation disconnect ------------------------------------------------------------------------- has anybody ever tried getting a panasonic voicemail integrated with inband signalling on a non-panasonic PBX? Some of these panasonic inband signalling names (like busy, DND, forward to VM ringing, disconnect) are easily identifiable, but the others have me somewhat confused. -Simon

Location: New England Rep Power: 7 ![]() | in the nutshell if you have the tvs or tvm setup for inband you will have to forward an ext busy/na to vm huntgroup if you can get the an ext to pulse out #6XXX or #6xxxx depending on you numbering plan the tvs will handle the call accordingly having said that now if you can light a light and turn off lights from an analog ext on you nortel you put those on and off code in the message on and off sequence area of dialing parameters and thats it so you need to do ! so my question to you is does the nortel outpulse follow id info to a analog port that has been flag as a voicemail port and if so what digits does it send can you get it to send a #6 befor the followon id?

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I can make 1-9, * or # be forwarded either prefixing the extension number (#6XXX) or suffixing the extension number (XXX#6) be sent from the PBX. I'm just a bit confused as to the terms that panasonic are using in their voicemail to describe these various functions; for example, the 'get mail' string that the PBX can send, doesn't appear to be listed in the voicemail's inband signalling.
