KX-TA616 SMDR with a PC:Can get data out pbx on hyperterminal

Hi all,

I am trying to get data out of a pbx KX-TA616.
I have build a RS232 cable based on the spec of the manual (db9-db9 female: (2->3, 3->2, 4->6, 5->5, 6->4,7->8, 8->7)
I have set-up COM port setting in the (data rate=9600,data bit=8,parity=mark,stop bit=1,flow control=None)
But i got nothing on my screen after numerous phone call.
Kindly help, as soon as u can.

use a radio shack null modem adapter and straight pin thru cable works
every time!

have tried the straight cable but it still does not work ...Help please.

I have got the programmator from pbxsoftware to test the pc to pbx connection but I got The error message is "No PBX Reaction. Check Hardware Please!"

The error is the same with straight thru cable and cross over cable

you need a "NULL MODEM ADAPTER" Connected to a Straight pin thru cable

I have tried it. nothing on hyperterminal, and with the programmator I got the error ésg : No DSR signal.

check the programm no 802 it should be oon
plz make a cable with proper connection as per the specs.and make the setting like for the COM port
CR-LF 9600 8bits mark 1 bit

Pg 802 is OK, cable built with connection as per described in the manual. COM port set according pg 802 spec, but the is still nothing coming out of the PBX.

Question: Since there is no need of flow control is possible check the electrical signal, directly on the pbx COM port without connection.

It is true recheck cable .and look at PBX configration.may SMDR is disabled.buad rate and other setting are not same at PBX and PC.
If you check them ALL,then Try on another PC,If no answer yet,may be a PBX hardware problem
