Panasonic kx td1232 smdr

Hi everyone,

I just registered and hope that with your help the problem i am experiencing will be solved.......

I already asked about this in some other forums but with no succes..So here we go...

I am trying to connect the smdr (rs232c) serial port to a call accounting software which is actually a hotel management system called roommaster with an build in epi ( external posting interface).I installed this software before with a pbx from nortel option 11 meridian with no problems. Also with a kxtd 1232 with no problems...So now there is another pbx from panasonic (kxtd1232) which is giving me a real headache..

I tried several utilities like winwedge, serial port analyzers, hyperterminal etc.. to see if tere is any smdr data coming out of the port. All with no succes...I am pretty sure that the settings from the pbx like baud rate , incoming/outgoing calls etc.. are ok, because i installed this pbx somewhere else as i mentioned before...A also used exactly the same cable wuth the correct pinouts(made it myself) as stated in the kxtd1232 manual.I also tried several pc because the problem could be with the com ports..Still no succes. So after searching and posting on different forums the conclusion is that the smdr section of that pbx is fried.See.... for more info. The last option would be a firmware upgrade to reinitialize the rs232c port.

The thing is that i have never done this on a pbx before..So does anyone could help me out with this or does anyone has another solution???

Regards,

Anil Bhaggan

if it is brand new it is under warrantee and it would already
have the latest firmware in it!! ship it back to where you bought it it is about useless without the programing port!
