If you haven’t done so - visit the above link.. - read the article and comments..

Additional Comments: Not related to the article and that's why I didn’t include them, but I would like to open a discussion...

My Quote:

Martha Stewart just got slammed for basically "lying" to the Government. (And ‘no’, I’m not a Martha Fan.)

I pose this question and welcome all responses.

I believe what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Shouldn't we 'The People", be allowed to prosecute the officials that 'Lie" to us for personal gain. As an example & not to mention any specifics: Let’s say a official party member 'lies' to protect his/her "lobbyists" in his back pocket, or 'Lies' to protect his/her stock position, or 'Lies' to protect anything "personal - shouldn't that person be governed by the same laws that got Martha in trouble?

Problems with CDR records in Genesys-Switch 81C

i fully agree with your comments chas
but i think if the goverment were disiplined for lying we would lose all of the labour party in the uk
it appears that at a high level lying is the norm but to us lesser mortals we would probably lose our jobs .
so i believe in your statement
"what is good for the goose is good for the gander"

my pennies worth

At least you'd only lose one party, mate...if we followed suit here, we'd HAVE no government. :P

Re: fully agree

we would probably be in the same boat .
they only lie when they are in the prime position
or when they are trying to get votes.

I'm all for punishing these "liars"...lets not forget our pals at Adelphia, Enron and of course, Worldcom. What they did to some of our 401K's (mine included) is deplorable!
