The scariest thing I ever heard (and I wish I could recal the gent who said it to give him credit)
Early on, when things in Iraq were getting underway, a Senator (as I said, I don't recall which) had a wonderful quote that hit home to me very hard:

"We're told there are weapons of mass destruction hiding in Iraq, and that we need to go in there, by force if need be, to find them. Do I think we'll find any? You bet I do! One way or the other, there will be WMD in Iraq...they just won't belong to the Iraqis"

When asked to explain further, he smiled to the reporter and said "You know."

Country:
In the final analysis, one thing is certain... no one is referring to the United States as a "paper tiger" anymore.

MW indicator

true..but I have heard the terms: Imerperialist Pigs ,Money Hungry warmongers, and Destructive Military state tossed round in various countries when refering to the US government.

Not much better, eh?

On the subject of this discusion (which is what it is, not a debate, as a debate would be a tad more structured ) think of it in these terms:
20, 15, even 10 years ago this would not be possible...
Think, folks, we've got literally an INTERNATIONAL viewership here, not just the US. And while most of us are in the US, and have our various opinions, we can actually get input from OTHER COUNTRIES as well!

In as much, I see a few names mysteriously missing from comment, and would be curious to hear what the people of THEIR contries think...(you know who you are (ICY!))

Speak up, let us know just how the Americans ARE viewed....often times our media, if it covers it at ALL, gives it such a slant we never get to know what the REAL feelings of other countries are towards Americans.
