Location: Chicago -- CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE Rep Power: 11  | WTF x 2 Mayor, Wife Get Jail In Theft Of $20K From Little League ADELANTO, Calif., Apr. 19, 2008 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (AP) A former mayor of a California high desert town and his wife have been sentenced to 6 months in jail for the theft of more than $20,000 from Little League coffers. Jim Nehmens, 50, and Kelly Nehmens, 44, pleaded guilty to grand theft by embezzlement and perjury Thursday. The eight-year councilman and Adelanto mayor had resigned from his post on March 31, about a week before he and his wife were arrested. The former mayor was president of the Adelanto Little League, and his wife was a board member during the years the money from the league's annual fireworks sales went missing. The money was taken over three years starting in 2004. Nehmens attorney Grover Porter did not immediately return a call seeking comment Saturday. +++++++++++++++++++++ Obviously this guy and his wife need to be beaten with sticks for stealing from the kids. Location: WNY Rep Power: 6 Gender:  Country:    | We had a story a couple of years ago here where a guy FOUNDED a "save the park" kind of group, got people to give all this money to save this park. Well we get a couple of years into this foundation thing and it nothing has really changed at the park at all and officials start looking into it and the guy had embezzled like $50,000. He ended up in jail for 5 yrs i think. Just getting out this summer. I had a BIL once who did the same with a "charity event" for a little boy who had cancer. Went to jail for like 2 yrs. People are so insane.... | ||||||||

But I can go ten miles south to Tijuana in Mexico and buy all I want. Just have to try to smuggle them across the border. Or I can drive 100 miles north to Los Angeles and buy all I want and then I can bring them home without a problem.
