What about PEX?

Wow! This whole hot water thing has got me thinking and the Bear and Ancient1 provided excellent info. The discussion on the on demand hot water was good. Now I've seen something else that caught my interest... PEX systems. Wow! Why have we not done this before?! Does anyone here have any thought about them or experience with them?

Can you all tell where Lmo is going to spend the raise she got for taking the new job? Yep, that 's right...the plumbing dept. at Lowe's, one way or the other.

Holmes is a Canadian builder who goes around sorting out the $h1t workmanship of other builders (usually when one of them has walked out half way through a job with all of the money!), he often uses PEX on water supplies. Maybe he uses it because of the Cannuckian weather and PEX being more resilient than copper.

I half looked at this when I had to update some of my feed pipes and decided to go with the copper (for no other reason than I had experience with it already and was comfortable working with it).

The stuff looks flexible and easy to work with. Would have made life easier when trying to get a 12 foot length of pipe up a wall through a crawl space where you needed to flex it a bit but I survived that challenge in life.
