Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Wow, did I open a can of worms! My desire to explore tankless was driven by the fact that we live in a 90+ year old house in the city that was originally a 2 family, complete with 2 gas and 2 electric services...and the billing that goes along with it. We have 2 old gas tank type waterheaters that are nearing end of life and I was wondering if tank less might be the way to go. That way, we could get rid of 2 tanks in the basement, and 1 pilot lights No hot tub or garden tub to worry about, we are shower takers, except for the rare occasion that I want to soak in a hot bath (like 2 times a year!) I just thought that this might be a better deal for us instead of paying to heat 2 tanks of water all the time. __________________ Proud Member of the LADIES LOVE MARTY Fan Club

Over here the tankless option (heated by gas) is the way that's been heavily promoted for the last 25+ years, the efficiency stats alone have been a major selling point. To me the thought of heating water I don't use and the thought of running out of hot water were not too great an idea so I chose the tankless option (plus it freed up space in my loft where the hot and cold water tanks were (even better for me as the cold water tank was in a really awkward place and made access to the loft difficult)). __________________ "Artificial Intelligence usually beats natural stupidity."
