Same reason they celebrate a day of High Treason.

It's "Bonfire day" or "Gunpowder Treason day" or...the probablly more familiar to those on this side of the pond 'Guy Fawkes Day".


Remembering the day Fawkes and his merry band of "Catolicks" tried to @ssplode Parliment with the King and his followers inside.

He got caught trying to light the fuse.
