Don't know if you've been keeping up with the news, but here in Virginia that speeder would be facing about $3,250 in fines. Anything 20 mph over the posted and they are going to fine him up to 2500 plus a year in jail and also something 400 per year civil costs for 3 consecutive years. Good news/bad news. This only applies to Virginia residents(out of state-er's not subject to these fines or loss of license).

Virginia's a tough state to drive through. Radar detector use is illegal and VG2 isn't quick enough sometimes.

Grr... Hate the speed limit.

It's illegal to HAVE a radar detector in VA. If you have one, be sure to hide it well in the trunk somewhere before entering VA. Bastard po-po.

Good to know. I always saw the signs that said "use" was illegal, so I just turned it off..... or did I?

Guess I'll have to take it off the windshield this time around.

Checked the Honda website and noticed that they sell those with V-rated tires.

The rumor mill has been alive with tidbits about speed cameras being installed along some of the open highways, (like the 5 north of LA) that should make things interesting and somewhat boring at the same time.

It just means that your traffic goes in waves as people are dringing along and suddenly realise there's a camera there. It'll probably increase the number of accidents too.

I think the trick is to get a train of cars going so the cameras only get the first and last car.
