Location: San Diego, CA Rep Power: 6 ![]() | When I returned to the States after a year in Korea in Jan 1966 (courtesy of the US Army) I bought my first car and got my driver's license about two weeks later. It was a 1957 Plymouth with the push button transmission next to the driver's wing window. Lots of rust on the body but I drove it from Los Angeles to Fort Carson, Colorado without a problem. In winter, it was January after all. During the eighteen months I was at Carson I upgraded all the way to a 1959 Ford Galaxy 500. Had that car for about three more years. __________________ Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup. When I traded it in it had almost 100,000 miles on the clock. __________________ "Artificial Intelligence usually beats natural stupidity."

I sold her to a friend who promptly drove her 500 miles at full speed in 3rd gear. She did not die an honorable death. She went up in flames on the side of Interstate 65. Very sad. Very sad. rlc __________________ No matter where you go, there is the Ladies Love Marty Fan Club. :bow2: :bow2: :bow2:

Was a "gift" since it was in my grandmothers backyard with a blown headgasket. Deathtrap that never caught me. What was a seatbelt back then?? It was where you left your belt after doing the goodlove thing. __________________ . . . Rep Power: 8 ![]() | In 1970, a 1956 Chevy Belair 210 2 door sedan. After all was said and done, it had a 327 at about 500 hp and would pull the wheelsoff the ground. It would rev close to 11,000. Damn I miss that car. __________________ Two snips, a snort, a turn, a fly, and a grunt, and it was so simple, like the jitterbug, it plum evaded me!
