Warms The Cockles of Your Heart, Doesn't It?

Just when you think there's no justice...A news article from a Florida
Newspaper:

"When Nathan Radlich's house was burgled, thieves left his TV, his
VCR, and even left his watch. What they did take was "generic white
cardboard box filled with grayish-white powder." (That at least is the
way the police described it.) A spokesman for the Fort Lauderdale
police said, "that it looked similar to cocaine and they'd probably
thought they'd hit the big time."

Then Nathan stood in front of the TV cameras and pleaded with the
burglars: “Please return the cremated remains of my sister, Gertrude.
She died three years ago.”

Well, the next morning, the bullet-riddled corpse of a drug dealer
known as Hoochie Pevens was found on Nathan's doorstep. The cardboard
box was there, too; about half of Gertrude's ashes remained. And there
was this note. It said: "Hoochie sold us the bogus blow, so we wasted
Hoochie. Sorry we snorted your sister. No hard feelings. Have a nice
day."

Regards

Tom

Sort of looks like the sister took care of Hoochie for everyone, in a roundabout way.
And now we know that we can store our stash in with our dead relative or in some sort of container that looks like a box containing our dead relative.
Puts a whole new slant on 'letting Grandma (or Grandpa or whomever) hold onto it for me' doesn't it?

I had my uncles ashes around for about 3 years before dealing with them; there should be a maximum time limit on keeping that stuff around.

I always figured that you got the box of ashes and then did the disposal thing right away...took them to the ocean or forest or where ever you were going to scatter them and did it- soon. I also figured it could be good justification for a trip. The ex and I used to go scuba diving several times a year somewhere in the Caribbean and I always told him that he could justify a trip if he'd promise to bring my ashes back and scatter me at one of those places (when it happened). Now he's the ex and I haven't been to those places for awhile, so that may not be the plan. Maybe the Grobian can take me back to Texas or out in the woods somewhere; he's not much into the beach thing.

For a lot of reasons, I'm not sure that I'd want that sitting around the house for very long.

My wife and I have such an agreement. I like trains so if I go first, she is going to take a train trip and scatter ashes on the track. If she goes first, I take a trip to Sedona, Arizona for that purpose.

Can't say that I've really given it any thought yet.

Probably because you are not 60 years old yet.
