I used to know a guy in Mt Dora Fla. that had a 15 ft Burmese python named Fred. They kept it in a small shed with fenced yard (like a chicken coop). Fred was as big around as my thigh and REALLY HEAVY. They fed him chickens and rabbits, but if a cat or dog came around, he'd start stirring, so I think they looked like dinner, too. He was beautifully marked and his skin was nice to touch, but I kept my distance. Most of the time Fred just laid around and didnt do much.

Well, most people don't care for snakes and are either scared or repulsed by them, but they're really pretty remarkable when you think about it. They are all meat eaters (not plant eaters) and of course want their food live; yet they have no arms or legs with which to catch or disable their prey. So here you have an armles/legless hunter trying to catch animals that have some big advantages over them. Stealth and speed are all they have, yet they survive.
