A man was sentenced Wednesday for stealing from the dead, NewsChannel5 reported.

Charles Slagle was sentenced to two years in prison for stealing about $32,000 from three different corpses.

Slagle was an ambulance driver who transported the bodies to the morgue.

That is a lot of dosh on a live person or a corpse! Perhaps he stole their credit cards????

Maybe they were all dead lottery winners or gamblers who died of heart attacks after winning the big one?

I think in some places it's a tradtion to bury the dead with money so that they have something to spend on the other side... I've also heard that in some places they'll burn a body in a fake car for roughly the same reason, the higher end the fake car then the further along you are on the other side... or something like that.

Credit cards and jewelry would be my guess. Where's the story from? If it was from Vegas, I could see that kind of cash coming into question.
