| Flashing "CC" light on PRI/DTI Card Husband sinks yacht to stop wife selling it A spurned husband has been accused of sinking a £100,000 yacht to stop his ex selling it cheap. Mark Bridgwood allegedly used an axe on the 35ft ketch Rebel at its berth in Dartmouth after his wife Tracey advertised it for £40,000. The attack destroyed the seacock, the device that pumps water from the engine. As a result, the yacht sank, leaving only parts of the two masts above water. Mrs Bridgwood, 42, a waitress at a Dartmouth hotel, and her husband are believed to be in the process of a divorce. "It was a beautiful boat and he sank it," she said. "What more can I say? I am really fed up with it all. There was an argument between us." The yacht was advertised in the Torquay-based Herald Express for £40,000 for "a quick sale". The advertisement read: "Ocean going 35ft sail boat. Fibre glass. All the extras. Make a nice river side home. Owner must sell quickly. Hence £40,000. Any quick cash offer seriously considered." Capt David White, the harbourmaster at Dartmouth, said the couple would be asked to meet the £10,000 cost of the salvage operation. A police spokesman said: "As far as we are concerned, no crime has been committed and it is a matter for the harbour authorities." SD | ||||||||

I recently had one of my worthless neighbors call the sheriff because I was destroying a car in my backward... they were pretty much told the same thing.

I don't know what was funnier... the looks on the cops faces when they showed up or when they told my rat neighbors that destroying my own car in my own backyard with a skidsteer, various pounding instruments and some beer wasn't against any laws they were aware of.

Location: @home Rep Power: 7 ![]() | neighbours = no noise neighbours = no offending visual stuff in your yard My dad can't do anything in his yard with out one of his neighbours making snide comments about how the yard looks. It is about 130 x 250 feet and looks pretty presentable to me as all the cars / boats / motors / etc.. are under those big white tents you can get for storage or inside his garage (an old barn) or shed (old chicken coop). He pulls out the arc welder and the guy goes nuts and complains he can't have friends over due to the noise. Mom and dad have been in the house for 30+ years now and this guy has been there for 15ish. None of the others seem to mind and the authorities say as long as he is within the hours of the day to make noise (resonable that is) the neighbour can go bite himself. (okay, maybe not those words exactly) go figure!

| I just went from a semi-detached bungalow on a 35'x115' lot in the middle of a well-populated town to a fully detached home far back on an 85'x225' lot with trees thick on 3 sides (and a conservation area forest behind me). We had good neighbours and we had a lot of bad neighbours exactly like slag's. I love the fact that now only my immediate neighbours on either side can see much of my property and they have to make an effort to do so. I sit almost 50 feet up from my neighbours in front of me and they are completely treed except for their narrow driveway. In short, I could do virtually anything in my front yard and most folks won't know or care. I can do anything in my backyard and nobody will know. I will not miss nosey neighbours! SD | ||||||||
