I have to get this done (horrible pain this weekend). I think I'm just going to have them go for all four. Any horror stories? I like to be prepared for the worst. Arch

The Army tried on many occasions to pull my wisdom teeth... then again that was pretty much default for anyone who showed up, I think they just wanted to do it for practice. I'm not sure what the procedure for the wisdom teeth is but when my time comes I want to be out like a light... none of that local crap.

I had one side taken out, the a$$ dentist said the other two on the other side were fine to leave in. Can you say "re-accruing revenue"? Anyway, it felt better when they came out. I had been "knocked-out" with the IV thingy and I felt nothing...while I was asleep. When I was at home, HOLY SH^t!! Thank god the man gave me some great drugs. I had the second set cut out on a Friday afternoon, slept till Sunday afternoon. Took about a week for both sides to feel better. All in all it’s not that bad. Everyone that has had it done feels the need to make it sound freighting. I may be right or I may be wrong. Good luck though.

Location: @home Rep Power: 8 ![]() | Had mine done about 20 years ago as they were starting to push my front teeth out of alignment. Did a general anesthetic, so don't remeber a thing. There was some minor aching afterwards that T3 took care of. Was back on solid foods the next day and back to school after the weekend.

I set myself up with a consultation with the oral surgeon for tomorrow morning. Hopefully this doesn't break the bank (no dental insurance here) Anyone know what the out of pocket costs for the surgical removal of four wisdom teeth might be?
