Let's not get in to an US vs. THEM with the Frenchies. They have some very nice countryside, music, FOOD (if you enjoy entrailes), pastry, and don't forget their libations. The French media, government, etc. may have an over-inflated sense of self and they may speak more verbosely regarding their oppinions but, you can't get rid of them. The "Ugly American" and the "Frogs" deserve one another.

More on topic, the phrase sour grapes comes to mind with regard to Lance.

Anyone see him on Larry King last night???

Are they trying to goad him into going for another one? I mean, really, the guy quits at the top of his game and they then try to smear him. Other cyclists have been dominated by this man and now finally have a chance to shine without him. Perhaps the French are worried that no one will show up for the races next year without Lance to draw them in.

They should just leave him be.
