Music On Hold for Option 11C

This story comes to you by way of Provo, UT

Last week Henry Carelby was arrested for kidnapping and hostage charges in Utah. Henry Carelby is the head of the "Neighborhood Watch - Civilians against Protocol of Fear and Unlawful Entry" for his home owners association. Mr. Carelby was arrested for kidnapping a child, but defends these charges on grounds that he was protecting his neighborhood from kidnapping.

We had the opportunity to join in on a press conference where Henry Carelby's attorney gave the following statement:

"The charges against Mr. Carelby are unjust, and frankly borderline ridiculous. Mr. Carelby only kidnapped 11 year old Melissa as a drill to help protect the city and it's neighborhoods from actual kidnappers and rapists, and now he lies in jail for wanting to help. I just don't understand today's society".

Here's what Henry Carelby did exactly:

On November 22nd Henry Carelby kidnapped an 11 year old girl in order to show his neighborhood how easy it was to break into a home and "steal" one of their children. On December 3rd of last year he wrote an article in a local Utah paper stating:

"I am the president of my neighborhood watch program, and if I can't do actual drills to protect my neighborhood then what's the purpose of having a neighborhood watch at all. All that I did was enter the home of a neighbor, and patiently hid in the room of their child. When the child fell asleep I calmly placed tape over her mouth, and took her from her home. I only kept her for 48 hours. She was never harmed, and fed well. I was the one who called the cops and informed them that it was a drill. They had the nerve to place me under arrest.

I am just thankful that my wife is so understanding and supports my work and tactics in the neighborhood watch. How come I was never arrested for acting out a role playing rape of my wife? I'll tell you why, because my wife didn't press charges."

What was this "role play raping"? Henry Carelby pretended to be a rapist where he broke into his own home, tied up his wife, without her knowing it was him, and had intercourse with her, and then left. the next day he informed his wife that it was just him, and that he did it so he could write a report and present it to the neighborhood watch on how to stop rape in the neighborhood.

I'm all for protecting our neighborhoods, but these tactics are out of line in my opinion. What are your thoughts?

Do you think that Mr. Carelby is using his neighborhood watch as an excuse to kidnap and rape?
