The City High student dressed as a Ku Klux Klansman for the school's Halloween masquerade party. The senior won the prize for the scariest costume and a five-day suspension, too. Grand Rapids school Superintendent Bert Bleke says the suspension is justified. But he wants to know why the adult chaperones at the party didn't stop the kid from wearing the KKK white-hooded outfit. The student, who hasn't been named, told The Grand Rapids Press he didn't want to get into anymore trouble by talking about the incident. ** I say blame the parents of this kid. | Senior Member  | Boy's KKK Costume Wins Him Award, Suspension Was that all there was to the article? I wonder what the grounds for suspension would have been. If he had dressed as a Nazi would that too have warranted a suspension??? I suppose if the KKK weren't still alive and thriving maybe the suspension would not have been levied. I can see both sides on this one. Gosh! Does that make me a flip-flopper????? :wink: rlc |

Zero tollerance to ANY sort of Racist/Facist is the norm in most schools these days, especially in the "Great White North" (pun intended) I saw this article (both where John got it and it's local paper source) and yes...that's all it says about it. The more toubleing part, that he DID win...
