TM3 - Read only connection

I have TM3 administering an opt81c, with 4 pty's configured with
USER = MTC SCH BUG

After 1 person connects through TM, when the second connects, they get a message on the terminal that says, "This is a Read only connection"

The strange thing is, when I look at the PTY after it has been accessed by TM, the
USER = SCH

The MTC and BUG have been removed.

Any comments?

I had a similar issue. Look at OTM security settings for users. Check if the site is a read only for maintenance and station. If it is change it to write.

I couldnt find site properties in the User Security settings.

I discovered that even though we have 4 pty's , TM only uses TTY 9.

I just noticed that in spite of the fact we have 4 pty's configured, when a second person tries to connect to the switch, they don't access the next pty, but must connect overtop of the first person on pty 09. Even the third person does not access the other available pty's, as when I stat in LD 37 only 1, (PTY 9) is enabled.

Below is a stat of tty's with 3 people connected to the switch, with 2 getting a "This is a Read only connection" message.

TTY 0 : ENBL DES: SYSMON
TTY 1 : ENBL DES: DIAL_UP
TTY 2 : ENBL DES: CDR_2
TTY 3 : ENBL DES: MDR2000
TTY 4 : ENBL DES: CORE-J25
TTY 5 : ENBL DES: CORE-J21
TTY 7 : ENBL DES: ON-SITE
TTY 8 : ENBL DES: TRF
TTY 9 : ENBL DES: OTM_01
TTY 10 : DSBL DES: OTM_02
TTY 11 : DSBL DES: OTM_03
TTY 14 : DSBL DES: OTM_00

Oh yea. This morning I was multi tasking. This is what I had also. When trouble shooting, I noticed that the "cut thru" only works on one PTY. So when a person is in command line via OTM, the other cut thry sessions are read only. I am not saying this is design intent, but, it seems normal to me. If you were programming from a TTY no body can program on the same TTY. The other PTYs are for the OTM "scheduled" tasks. If there is a need for more command line access, go to a terminal on a TTY, or modem.

Thanks boylerman

That makes sense now, since TM is managing the system. We will have to use the functionallity provided with the GUI. Command line is difficult to give up when you have used it so long.
