After reading all that has been posted, the guys are right. I worked for Nortel for 22 years myself, Nortel is the most tight lipped manufacturer you will ever deal with. Having said that,

I am sure you've heard that the Cisco will cost more, Cisco will hook you in at 1st with a lower cost. BUT you will add more boxes to do what Nortel can. In the end Cisco will be slightly higher.

Nortel and Avaya are the most rock solid systems. Cisco will require reboots to the Call Managers and Unity voice mail systems once a month on busy boxes.

System capabilities and features ; Nortel Avaya win, there are some things you just can't do with the Cisco. PERIOD. Will they catch up? Sure they will. There are some things that the Unity will do that Nortel can't. (Single digit menus from a mailbox)

Ease of implementation I configured a Call manager myself, without any classes and 30 minutes from a Cisco engineer. Took me a day to make a call thru a P-2-P PRI.

Support and maintenance ; HAHA, this product is brand spanking new, you will get monthly updates, and they wont always work

Uptime and reliability ; See above, If configured properly with Publisher and subscriber it is relaible,

How to integrate Cisco IPT with CallPilot (703t) v4.0; ? I have used QSIG from the other direction to light MWI on Nortel.

Problems and challenges you had to overcome in transition
QOS, new way of operation on sets. New language on Cisco
