Cool Enable *57 or *69

Hi,

Since the last couple of month, I have a prank caller that call my agents during the night. I called the cops and they told me to dial *57 after each prank call. The problem I have is when I dial 9 ( to take a line out ) and *57, I just received a busy signal instead of receiving the message that the call have been trace and sent to the cops. I'm pretty sure it's a configuration on my PBX, option 11C, but I don't know where to enable that function.

Does someone know in which LD I have to configure my PBX to let the *57 go out of my phone system?

Thank you for your help!

Do you have CDR (TMS) Reporting?

You could also leave a DCH Trace on the line at night to see what messages are coming in, but you would need the time.. if you have a busy call centre this could cause a problem!

My guess is that *57 is a feature available from the telco to residential users, in most cases these feature codes are not available to business users on PRI / DTI trunk connections.

If you have a police report on file you should be able to call the telco and have them perform what is known out here as a "trap and trace" if the caller is calling from a number with blocked CLID you'll never see it on a DCH message trace however even if the CLID is 'blocked' it still traverses the carriers network to the last CO before it gets to you so they should be able to see it.

If you want to try the DCH message option use ENL MSGI x (dch number in place of x) MSG STP - the MSG STP flags will show you only incoming setup messages and keep all of the other crap out, if you have a busy trunk group you may find that it is impossible to turn off the messaging from the TTY, either use a non MTC tty or use the maint set.
