ALTIGEN POSTS RECORD REVENUE FOR FISCAL FIRST QUARTER 2006

We just had a 2000IVS installed. All calls go across a tie line to our 2400. From the 2000, we ca n dial 4 digits and local but not long distance. What do I check and where do I fix it??

Funnily enough I had this myself just the other day. Check Cmd A710 on the IVS, It is probably set to 15 try changing it to 06. The description in the manual is one of the great all time misleading pieces of Jinglish you will ever come across but what is essentially happening is the link is timing out before the call is established.

I went over to test. The long distance is working but after you dial out it takes about 10 seconds to get ring back. The people were not waiting that long. How can we get that to go out faster. Remember, we go out accross a T1 to a 2400 before it hits the outside world.

OXO V3 download ?

I wouldn't know what was happening to slow things down. Check all settings and see if there is anything there. You could also try capturing a call with a dcon on the 2400 to see where the delay is coming from. However if you are going out on T1 then through the 2400 and out on pstn the delay does not seem excessive.

If you think about what is actually happening. The T1 will wait till it has the entire number before signalling, so you incurr a delay there (this is not normally seen as the process is so fast from there on in normal circumstances) then the 2400 seizes a trunk and a register (there will be delays incurred here checking for dial tone) then it has to dial the number again checking for dial tone after seizing an outside line and at 10 pulses per second plus inter digit pauses plus waiting for ring to be returned, A 10 second delay seems about right.

just a quick afterthought. Are the digit lengths set correctly. if they are set too long there will be a delay while it times out.

The digit lenght is default - 24 I think. Could I lower that on the 2000 and is so what command?

Good idea

CMD 85Y should do it. But it's been so long since I had to touch this area I won't try and give any advice.
