hello - i just set up a new extension and the handset won't ring. i've tried a different number, and a different phone as well - it just won't ring. can anyone help?

Jonas;

What type of system ?
What type of phone ?

When you say 'doesnt ring' does the LED flash to indicate a call ?

If you pick up handset, is there speech ?

If a large system (2400), check akyd and make sure RING is set to either 1,2,3. If set to 3, check RG under multi line assignment is also set to 1.

If a small system (2000) check cmd 9001, 9003 and also 93.

it's a neax 2000, the LED light does flash, there is speech when it's answered, it just doesn't ring. CM9001, 9003 just say data errror, CM93 is set to the extension. i'm sure it's a really really simple and easy fix - it's just one of those things i can't pin down. i really appreciate your help. cheers!

when you say 9001 9003 say data error, this sounds odd.
the syntax for this command is the same as 9000. is there any password that could stop data being assigned.

sorry - i was mistaken - the setting for CM9001, 9003 and 9000 are the same as another extension which does ring. could this be an issue with service class restrictions?

Is the extension i.e. button that does not ring a virtual, Analog or Dterm extension? If analog set 1205 for the analog extension to a 0.

thanks everyone - it was my oversight. yes i did try another handset - but it was the CM 9003 i missed - all the other ones i compared it to were 16 button phones, this one was an 8....i just didn't look far enough....
