whisper announce

I have several users that are members of a UCD group, and since they are part of the call-centre team they all have headsets programmed on their handsets.

I have added these users to a pickup group as well so that they can pickup each others calls using a pickup soft-key rather than picking up the other users' line which then occupies 2 lines.

I programmed the PICK soft-key to their handsets but it wasn't working. After a bit of troubleshooting I found that if the HEADSET was Released, the pickup button would work. But if the HEADSET was activated then the user cannot use the PICKUP soft-key, it does nothing at all.

The HEADS option must be released before the phone starts ringing as well. I tried to release the headset after the phone started to ring, but still could not pickup the line, as i then wanted to activate the headset again. Obviously no luck and it's quite annoying.

Any ideas?

Cheers

System Error

What type of sysyem do you have? It could depend on the way you are using the headset key. In older systems you had to have a release key to hang up on a headset call and you just left the handpiece off the cradle. This method of use has for some reason been perpetuated even though we now have F1090 as a headset/handset key. Try leaving the handset in the cradle and using the headset key like a toggle switch (ie press to answer then press the same key to hang up) this should work normally when using pick up.
