How to get SMDR output from Nitsuko DX2ET

Hi,

We have this ancient Phone system, and we connected it up with a Recording server/software combo. The server doesnt support Digital extensions, so we ended up connecting it to the trunk lines. It records everything, but we dont have any Extension related information, and its very hard to ID the calls.

We are based in Dubai, and getting support here is very difficult. The best thing I got was from the call recording software's guys, and they said I need SMDR output from my PBX, a Nitsuko DX2ET-32BM. This will give info to the server via COM port about the current phone call, so the files can be saved according to their origination extension.

We have a Master phone, a Nitsuko DX2ET-16TXH and this guy has a special connector in the bottom. The guys from the software company told me if I connect this handset to a COM port, and have it hanging off a real extension, it will pass the necessary info to the server.

My questions is where would I go to buy a cable like this? I am browsing for hours now, but I am not getting smarter. The problem is I am new to Telephony, and to be honest, apart from a few things, I dont understand much.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks

Ben

I think you need to buy one serial card Call DCIA (part no. can't give you off hand ) attach to the DX2ET-16TXH phone. Some programming also need to activate and command the port. The cable also is not that special which may be only D25 to D9 modem cable, all this need to check and confirm.

Hi,
You are right, we did find a supplier here locally after all, and he ordered us the card, called DX2e DCI-A1 and he connected it to a server via a modem cable. Then some programming was done on the PBX and SMDR flows nicely after all.

At first I was lost in this "new" telephony world, but with the help of these technicians, all worked out fine.

Thanks for the help,

Ben

Does anyone have any idea how to enable the SMDR on a handset with a Serial Port - Its a Nitsuko DX2E-12BTXH with serial card installed.

The SMDR data is currently being sent to another handset in the building. The closest thing i came across was a german Nitsuko manual but even with google translate is does not make much sense!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi,

All I can say that the tech had a fat manual book and he entered codes on the handset itself to do the programming. He did not connect the laptop to the system at all.

Hope you found a solution in the meantime though,

Cheers

Ben
