a circuit breaker had tripped on a unit that we thought was part of the charger for the battery backup to the phone switch the circuit breaker was for an 80 volt dc converter that connected to the phone switch in the back bottom left. this supplies the switch with the voltage necessary to power the vm indicator light on the analog phones upon resetting the breaker the vm indicator lights worked system wide

Having seen your PM where you said dterms worked but analogues didn't this would have been the logical next thing to check. Glad you found it yourself though as that is always more satisfying. Sorry I didn't see your PM before though.
