Question VM light

I am getting complaints that the Message waiting light on my analog phones is not coming on but as of right now the digital phones are fine. Any suggestions.

Did the light come on when you tested it?

OK. On the power cards (PW-54/PW-55) is the LED for the 80 volts on? If it is not on, then the lights for the analog phones will not work. If it is on, get a test phone and use the CMWL command to manually turn the light on. Does this work? If it does then you will need to look at the packets being sent from the vmm to the PBX and verify that the correct packet is being sent.

If there is no 80 volt LED on the power card then you need to verify that you have 80 volt output from your MW power supply. Some systems use a -48 to +80 volt converter. If your system does, then verify if you have 80 volt output. If no output find out why. Is the breaker tripped for the converter or has a component failed in the power supply? If you use the little 120 vac to +80 vdc converter, see if it has come unplugged.
