Connecting NEC to Inacom..... We currently have a NEC IPX that we need to connect from our site to another site running an Inacom system on the other side of the state and we need to do this via TCP/IP. We can control the QOS through all the routers so that we have a very low latency connection. We currently have a T1 card in the NEC that is utilizing 8 channels and is going into a CSU/DSU and being muxed with 1Mb of data that is being transported via dedicated a T1 line to the far site where it's un-muxed and the voice channels are being fed directly into the Inacom. It's worked very well for over 5 years but we need to change. We need to turn this into a total IP connection some how. Our dedicated T1 lines are going away and being replaced by 10mb fiber connections (IP only). I've gotten a couple of options from our NEC Vendor and for what they want to add to the system I can buy a lot of dedicate T1 connection..... Basiclly they want to either use an MG PRI Option for 1 ISDN PRI Tie Line w/ 23 voice trunks or use an H323 Trunk Option with 32 trunks and a gatekeeper/server. So what I'm looking for is someone that can answer some questions on which why may be the best or are there other options that possibly use non-NEC hardware...... I know that I can setup a VOIP gateway on our side that will tie into the Inacomm for about a third of what our vendor wants, but What I really need is realibility and ease of setup. Thanks... (and by the way I'm a data monky not a phone god..) |
