Trunk Restriction Class

Hello:
I am new to the forum and I hope that I can get (and someday provide) some assistance. I was assigned the responsibility for our PBX with no prior knowledge at all. We have a NEAX2000 and use Matworx as an interface. The system supports roughly 300 lines. I have two issues that I hope I can get some assistance with:
1) The trunk restriction class goes from RCA through H with A the least and H the most restrictive. Does anyone know the specifics of restriction for each level?
2) The management would like to restrict phone use in the plant. By using RCH I can limit outbound traffic. Is there a way to limit inbound traffic on a station by station basis?
Any and all help greatly appreciated
Dave

The levels can vary from site to site as it is set to the customers requirements. Whats more it is very difficult to determine unless you can do a list up, even then it is laborious. Inbound traffic is easiest restricted by giving the phone a number outside your indial range but to do that you need to know how your numbering plan is set up. First question is which system you have, an IVS, an IVS2 or an IPS? This will determine whether we can get a listup.

Thanks for the quick reply. We have the IVS2 system running with Matworx. I was told the restriction values started at A=International and worked its way lower but I have no documentation of this or where it would be entered. We need to allow certain departments more access than others. Still going through the manuals but the brain turns to mush after awhile

Dave the restrictions are applied to individual extensions in command 1201. this applies restrictions based on command 81. The problem is that the number dialled is related to command 81 in the LCR programming Cmd 8A and that is a real maze. First question is in cmd 200 what do you get for your line access code (probably 9) the command string in moc mode would be 200 de 9 de.

I post elsewhere under the name of OzzieGeorge (it wouldn't accept R4+Z) anyway that site has an FAQ section and your query prompted me to write a walkthrough for LCR. You may want to try it out and see if it helps you. It can be accessed here......

Thanks R4+Z, I appreciate the help. Given my lack of experience in the MOC I am going to bring in the service tech on this one. The company would not be very forgiving if I made a mess of the phone system. I have the command manual and see if I can get an understanding of the process.
Thanks again
Dave

There are other tutorials in the FAQ section of that site. They may be worth a look as well. Also there is a book called the feature programming manual which gives a step by step guide to programming each feature. you can find a copy here.....

Welcome to the world of NEC programming.
