| Junior Member | loading options for 5th pim I hate to ask a basic question, but I seem to be overlooking something. I dont' load software or register pbxs hardly ever. And I am trying to load just the options portion of a software cd from nec that has the option for 64 ports. I am adding a 5th pim to the switch. Everytime I try to connect, it does do anything and It will not connect. Do I need to turn the sense wheel to something? do I need to turn off anthing in the system to do this? Is there a procedure for just adding options to a switch? |

| Senior Member | To load options you can do it online but you need a windows 98 computer with integral disk drive or you wont be able to do it. Also some of the more current versions of matworx won't work on 98 so you need an older copy of Matworx. After loading the option you need to reset the system to activate it. With an IPS you can avoid the reset by using command 83 de 3 de 0 exe. |

| Senior Member | It's not in the manual. As they say in OZ it's secret technicians business.......! Try it next time you have options to load on an IPS (it only works on IPS) If you load the options then lokk them up you see them as unavailable. Try Cmd 83 as above and then look them up again and you will see that they are now available. It just saves doing a reset and disturbing the customer. |
