911 Alarm/Call Accounting Software

Does anyone have a favorite 911 alarm/call accounting program? I am demo-ing "Metropolis" and I like the way it can text message you the extension that dialed 911.

However, we are a church and have no need for the Call accounting features.

Overall, the software is kind of pricey for just the 911 txt message feature.

Does anyone have a 911 notification program they like that is inexpensive or free?

911 Emergency Notificiation

You can try RSI. They offer something called tools OSN. What type of telephone system do you have?

I think they have stuff for Nortel, Avaya and Cisco.

Check out their website here: Call Accounting Software, Hotel Call Accounting, Switch Administration by RSI

They have vendor-specific websites as well driven off the main site.

Thanks for the information. I have a NEC 2000 IVS.

It looks like the company had an e911 package, but it didn't say it was for the 2000. Does anyone here use the product and have any feedback?

Are you sure it is an IVS?

If it is an IPS you can upgrade it to R8 3300 to allow the following feature that would help you. SMDR is not required.

The R8 Series 3300 IPS software enhancement allows 911 Notification to a Digital Dterm or IP Dterm when a station dials 911. On the Notification Dterm ringing and red flashing “EMG” key alerts that a station had dialed 911. The Notification Dterm goes off hook and presses the EMG key, the originating station number and destination trunk number is displayed on the LCD. By additionally pressing the “Override” key the Notification Dterm conferences into the 911 call and can assist in coordinating and directing
emergency services.

When two or more Notification Dterm’s display the same caller information at the same time, the Notification Dterm that pressed the “Override” key first will conference into the 911 call. The other Dterm’s will receive ROT.

If it is an IVS and don't want to upgarde to an IPS, you can try letter after v times 3 dot trisys dot com ( no websites allowed sorry) and check out the TAPIT software. Check out the NO SMDR Alarm portion, you can put up to 8 numbers in that if they are dialed it will screen pop the software. This will work with the NEC.

I have a 2400IPX but use a product called ToneCommander. It monitors the PRI circuit and notifies a series of work stations via a pop-up message. While I believe it only works on Windows machines, it has been very helpful for us, in a University environment. The pop-up message is sent when there is a disruption on the PRI (alarm) or a call notification - giving time of call, location of call, based on data entered into the system. It doesn't do call cost accounting, and so it might a solution for your needs.
