Need help on moving extensions

Hello, I'm new to the NEC pbx, we currently run a 2000 ivs. We have major renovations going on in our building and are moving users around on a daily basis.

At my last company we had a Definity switch and I used to use a TTI code to move extensions around right from the station drop.

Is there a way to do this on the NEC? I currently have to put a tone on the line and go to the closet and find it on the crossover block to do the swap. A real PITA. Was hoping for a way to do it right from the phone at the drop end?

Thanks,

Andy

You can use set/relocate. Assign a feature code for this function in CMD 200 and make sure it is allowed in all relevant service restriction classes. Then go to the phone dial the feature code followed by the extension you want it to be. This will simply swap extensions. Can't give you the programming off the top of me head....no manuals to hand.

Do u have MATWorx program for maintenance....?
if so, on the tool bar click on (Station) ... then click on Copy/Move/Swap station. and then it will look very clear how to proceed.

Commands in case you donr have matworx

1- 15131>15>0 (in case you stations are in another service class rather than 15 change the 1st data)

2- 1202>station number>1515
3- 200>choose access code for Authorization>A086
4- 200>choose access code for swaping>A196

In case you dont have Auth codes u can skip step 3 (I think so)

To move Station-A to Station-B:
1. Station-A lifts handset. Receive Dial Tone.
2. Dial Authorization Code access code. Receive Special Dial Tone.
3. Dial Authorization Code for changing station class temporarily. Receive Dial Tone.
4. Dial Set Relocation access code. Receive Special Dial Tone.
5. Dial Station-B number. Receive Service Set Tone and LCD displays “SWAP OK xxxx” (where

xxxx
is Station-B number)

6. Restore the handset; After four seconds, data between Station-A and Station-B will be exchanged.

Before you do it ,you must check that ,is the two station in group service!
if so,you need to delete them from group service.
