Rep Power: 0 ![]() | How to disable hold ring indicator? How do you disable the hold ring indicator? Our system is setup so that when you place a person on hold and take a call on the second line, the phone will ring non stop after awhile until you click back to the person on hold. Is there a way to disable this feature on a single line or is it a global setting for all phones? I'm new to the NEC PBX world, so any assistance that can be provided will be greatly appreciated. We are using an NEAX 2000 IVS2 PBX and have Dterm Series E phones. Thanks!

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | This is done by a recall timer. Basically when you put someone on hold a timer starts and if thecaller you placed on hold has not been taken off hold the system sends the call back to you. The Timer can be changed but it is system wide so it will change for all stations. the command is 410:06:01-99 (each increment is of 4 seconds so 01 = 4 secs, 02 = 8 secs etc 99 = no recall) When you say 'Click back' are you implying you are using a PC?

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | What I meant by 'click back' is when you go back to the line with the person on hold. I ususally develop my own terminolgy. I went to MOC. I hit F9. I entered 410 and hit F8. I entered 06 and hit F8 again and got 410>06:NONE. Am I checking this correctly? Shouldn't there be a value in there? Does None mean the feature isn't configured and it's using a default setting? Thanks for the help! Last edited by arganos; 10-18-2007 at 09:02 AM.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | bobcheese is correct the 2 bit you need to look at are 410>05 and 06. When you look up the data NONE just indicates that it using the default data. At default 05 = NONE is really 60-64 seconds and at default 06 = NONE is really 236-240 seconds. Both commands change in 4 second increments. so if you make 05 = 01 then a call will ring back in 4 seconds if 05 = 24 then it would ring back in 48 seconds. If you assign 99 to both commands calls will never ring back.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Both numbers indicate the amount of time before a call will recall to the extension that placed it on hold. 05 is for ordinary hold (non-exclusive hold) 06 is for exclusive hold. Exclusive hold is where a call that is placed on hold can only be picked up from the phone that placed the call on hold.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Thanks for the clarification Smoom. Since 05 and 06 are global settings that affect everyone, is there a work around for single stations? Like a way to mute the ring on hold indicator? This feature is driving my boss crazy, but he doesn't want to affect the operation of the call center. Do you guys have any suggestions? Many Thanks! ![]()
