Ips 2000 & Vlans Help!!!

Here's my problem,

I have a stand alone IPS 2000 with approx 50 IP sets. The customers network is on Vlan 1 and IPS is on VLAN 2. IP sets are set to boot into Vlan 2 on the and all works fine the site is live.

However, the other day I installed 4 x SP30 licenses onto the switch. When the customer runs the SP30 program they can log into the IPS (so the IS routing between Vlan1 & 2) The can make IP -IP calls ok (peer to peer) but as soon as the try to dial out or recieve a call from outside the call is established but there is not speach either way on the call????

If you run the SP 30 on a PC which is connected to a Vlan 2 hard coded port on the switch the SP30 works fine.

If you boot a physical IP phone in Vlan 1 and try to dial out you get the same fault as the SP 30's?

Its obviousley a problem in the network but what??????

You are most likely using NAT to get between the 2 vlan's, and the PBX does not like NAT. Build a direct path between the to 2 Vlan's

I would say it is something to do with the setup of the port the IP-PAD is connected to as the CPU is setting up the call but then the Pad is not able to switch the speech. Compare the CPU IP connection to the IP-PADs and see if there is any difference.

Even though this issue is closed it is an interesting and common setup - I have found that the GW/router MUST have the capability of bridging the 2 VLANS when an SP is involved - even on the LAN the PC will come up with a data VLAN ip address - if the routes arent set between the 2 the SP will never work properly...
