Outbound Number Sending

I have an NEAX 2000 IVS.

I recently switched PRI providers, with the old provider when we dialed 8, the system would send out our fax number, since we changed however it is now sending out our main number.

The new provider is saying that they are only seeing 4 digits come from the phone system when we dial 8 and that we need to set our phone system to show all 10 digits when we dial out via 8.

Even if I have to set it per extension instead of dialing 8, thats fine.

Our phone vendor has been working on it for over 20 days now.

Maybe my phone vendor just isnt really working on it? Anyway I can make this change myself through a phone or via matworx?

Thanks ahead of time.

Mike

First we need to know where dialling 8 takes you. Check Cmd 200 de 8 de and tell us the result.

Each station can be programmed to show it's own unique DID for outbound caller ID or you can program each station to show the 'main number' as the caller ID.

This is a station setting and is not able to be made different for a single station accessing different trunk groups.

With that being said, your PRI carrier has to allow the NEC PBX to override the default caller ID they are providing.

You will need to seperate your PRI into 2 trunk groups. One for when you dial 9 (example 10) and one when you dial 8 (example 11). A26 and A27 will determine which routes you will grab, I am assuming you know LCR. Lets say your fax number is 222-333-4444. For the trunks that are in route 11 go to CMD 3019 and put the last 4 digits in 4444. Then go to CMD 3034 for the trunks in route 11 and set them to 00-14, which ever block is not being used. Then go to CMD 5005 de 00-14 de and enter the first 6 numbers 222333. You need to determine how many trunks you want to deticate for faxing because they will only be utilized when you dial 8. The order of priority for outbound CID is station (1212 and 1213,and 5005) then Trunk (3019, 3034, 5005) then no data and thet will send out the BTN that the carrier has set.
Hope this helps.

8A4005 - what a cool nickname (although 8A405 might be better for the IVS, can't remember)

It is probable that if you follow LCR programming you will find that 8 actually takes you to a different trunk group as first choice and that in changing carriers the line for your fax has been discontinued and the LCR is now using the second choice of the PRI for outgoing. if you can follow the LCR programming to find out what the situation really is.

I am assuming you have checked 1212 and 1213 for your Fax extension.
