forward a virtual

has anyone ever been able to grab an outside line by forwarding a virtual to something. My real question is how do you defeat the inibility of the 2000 to provide a outside line preference like a key system for fax machines. I was thinking if you could hotline an analog ext. to a virtual that is forwarded to 9, that that would work. However I don't think you can enter any DTMF after that.

The easiest way would be to create a seperate access code for that one outside line. for example 200 de *9 (or whatever code you want to use) de 101 (or whatever trunk route you want to use) exe Then in Cmd 3000 set your outgoing fax trunk to the appropriate route and away you go.

I normally create a closed numbering plan access code. A numbering plan where digits 0 to 9 point to the closed numbering plan access code A129. . Assign the new plan to a new tennant in CMD 29. Put the fax extension in the same tennant as the new number plan.

Add a 0 (or a 9 for US) using 8A9xxx. Because a closed numbering dosen't strip the access code. It dials the 0 (or 9) then the access code you dialled originally then the remainder of the number.

Obviously setup 8A4xxx & 8A5xxx as required as well.

Works exactly the same as the Key system command. ( Hotline i think they call it)

If it for a Dterm simply do the following:
In CMD 93, assign your specified CO line as the prime line .
