Unhappy IVS 2000 ISDN PRI config

Hi All,

Currently I am working with a customer that has an IVS 2000 with a 30 PRTA and the following was given as the configuration:

Command 3518 No Digit Conversion
3589 NO CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check)
3502 Bothway route
AA06 ETSI
3002 ISDN Trunks
3003 ISDN Trunks

We on the other hand are using a Cisco 2611xm with an AIM Card and E1 controller to interface with the PBX as an E1 ISDN PRI ETSI. We are sure that the router is configured properly. The problem is that calls can be made from the IVS 2000 to the far end (through our IP network, router making the conversions), but the far end attempts go unanswered by the PBX. The error we get says that the channel/circuit requested is not available. The ISDN PRI is up, the D-channel is up.

What are the possible options that would make the PBX configuration not correct?
What other options can he configure on the pbx?

The pbx belongs to the customer in Uruguay. I only have what I posted. If you can give what specifics you would need to identifiy it better please send them and I will ask.

thank you

I have experienced a problem in the past that the DNIS settings are approached slightly differently between the two boxes which puts the numbering of the circuits out by one so for example the call coming in is believed to be on cct 1 but is actually on cct 0. you can see the problems that would cause. I can't point you any closer as I had to call in the cavalry on this one.

Cool 2000 IVS PRI issue

Well I am still working with the customer and their PBX. My Cisco router has been looked at by 3 different Cisco TAC folks and has been OK'd by each one, not to mention several knowledgeable folks. The problem persists that outgoing calls from the PBX work, but not incoming. Router is sending, pbx disconnects call immediately with generic 'normal unspecified' ISDN code 31. Found an article from Cisco that said PBX won;t handle a data call, has to be speech. So I set the bearer-cap to speech, no change.

Anybody got any ideas as to why this PBX wont handle calls incoming?

Check what R4+z mentioned... in the programming for channel number allocation. Cant remember it off hand. Problem is that you start out aas Channel 1 being trunk 1 til you get to the middle Channel 15 is 15... Channel 16 is Dchannel.. Channel 17 is now trunk 16 etc if you step opne ie channel18 it trunk 18 your in trouble.

Would question why you turn CRC off..? ETSI should be fine as its prety universal

I think you'll find we also start at 0 whereas Cisco start at 1 or vise versa

This all sounds very familiar. I think this could be to do with CIC.

Trunks are assigned using:

0701>XXYY:ZZZ (XX is AP number of PRTA, YY is channel within PRTA CARD)

CIC are assigned using:

3007>ZZZ: ???

Is the CIC assigned to your first B channel 000 or 001?
