Question No console connection for AD8 voicemail

I had setup my console connection to the AD8 Vmail by running Virtual PC with a DOS environment. It stoped working and I can't connect to the AD8 console even if I try a standalone machine.

It just sits there indicating "Connection complete; Wait for login!" After a few minutes it times out and exits.

Hi Pedro,

What is te console used for? If it is for programming the AD8 have you tried the Co-session software that is normally shipped with the product?

That's what I'm referring to. It does not login to the AD8. All I get is the connected then generating login message and then it fails and exits.

No sure about that one to be honest. Do you get the 'press any key' screen that bounces around like a screen saver? is this a new connection on has this previousley worked and now isnt?

This previously worked. As far as I can tell, I didn't change the password. I don't get the screen you refer to (that's the problem!). In reality, I can't even say for sure that the serial connection is established since the system doesn't really check. I'd ge the same "connection established, generating login" message even if the cable is not attached. But I don't have a reason to suspect the serial connection since it was working before and nothing has changed on that.

ok. a couple of things that i would try then. 1st of all ned to check the cable. If my memory serves me well it should be a standard NEC MAT cable. If so try it in the MP and connect using matworx this will prove the cable is ok. Next need to check the staus of the card itself Ie there is a switch that toggles the Comm port for local ad remote connection. I have a couple of manuals to assist you with this. If you send me a private message with an email address i will forward the manuals to you.

good luck
