SMDR missing calls

I have an NEAX 2000 IVS updated to IPS for new PIM support. The original trunks running on a 24DTA card all report SMDR correctly. The new PIM with a new 24DTA card only manages to report half of the outbound calls. I have verified this by watching the SMDR data as I dialed numbers routing through the new PIM & card.

Typical finger pointing is to the PC's comm port not being able to handle the amount of data coming from the switch. I disagree since all other call information is reporting correctly.

Another potential problem, the new card is being used by a new tenant setup. I remember the tech saying he didn't follow the typical tenant setup. He just constructed the LCR so tenant 2 would use the new card.

I have attempted to check every command with an SMDR setting and cannot locate any differences between the settings on the original 24DTA and the new one. Stations are all set to report SMDR.

I suspect there may be something in the LCR since I'm only missing some calls and not all. Have any other administrators seen this type of behavior?

see if you can assign a trunk route access code for the routes, and place og calls to see which routes are not recording smdr. do this in cmd 200 and assing data 100-163 for individual route.

if you can pinpoint which route, check 3514 for the route

also, are you looking at the raw smdr data, or the data that has been processed by smdr system. some smdr systems require programming so that they generate processed records. The PABX will send the data, but if the Route and Trunk are not in the systems data base, they will ignore these records.

thanks.

I can watch the SMDR stream in over the serial port. About half of the new tenant's calls show up. Of course when Verizon is on-site running tests, they don't see a problem.

I'll add a trunk access button for that route and do some test calls from my extension. Since my call volume is small, it should be easy to pick out of the SMDR and call accounting system.

My thought is the new trunks were not added with the same settings as our previous. Traffic measurements can be done on all the old trunks but the new ones do not show up.

I'm also going to add one of the extensions to my phone and count the number of calls for a 30 minute window. One annoying thing with doing this, I can't find the ringer flag in MATworX. I miss my DOS MAT. *GRIN*

SMDR Update

During this testing, I stumbled across something interesting.

If a call is answered after the 2nd ring, the timer displays on the phone and starts timing. If the call is answered after the 1st or in the middle of the 2nd ring, the timer never shows up. If the timer doesn't show, the SMDR record is not created.

Any thoughts on where this timer is and what other areas of the system it would impact?

Problem System Wide

Sorry if I didn't make it clear but these records that are missing can be reproduced on all routes now.

If the call rings for longer than 2 rings on any route, the detail record is created. If it does not, no detail record. This is easily monitored by watching the timer display on an LCD phone. Timer shows, call record shows. Timer doesn't show, call record doesn't.
