Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Hey teltek! when you use a PMS you must use a dataset no? the question is will I need a null modem cable between the DS1103 and the PMS computer? Also, the voicemail will be tapping the serial connection, I presume I would not use a null modem cable for the voicemail tap. | ||||||||

Location: Kitchener, Ontario Rep Power: 5 ![]() | DS1103's can be set a printer mode in form 29 making it rs-232 DCE and a straight thru works or set it for terminal mode and it operates as rs-232 DTE and your null modem fits. In the case of the voicemail interface you will be connecting two DTE ports directly and therefore you will need a null modem cable. If the voicemail is the express-what-a-mess card, it is supplied with a specific PMS cable; a nullified Mitel flavour. Be careful with this pinout if you attempt to make your own. As for needing a DS1103 ... yes but only when you are connecting the sx200EL or sx2000. The ICP's, my personal preference, will require an IP PMS interface or an iPocket that gateways the telnet IP to an rs-232. This is covered in the Mitel documentation rather well.
