Question Mitel 3300 ICP - Outbound CLID for CFW

New user here,

I'm having a unique issue with a 3300 ICP MX V9. They have a support line setup as a multicall line appearance that is a member of a ring group. After hours, the system is setup to automatically Forward all calls to an SSC that routes to a mobile phone. All of that works fine. The issue is with Caller ID. On the remote mobile phone, it gets the caller ID of the PBX instead of the source caller.

I'm also seeing this issue if I do a call forward all on any phone. COS - Display Caller ID on Held Call is enabled.

One other noteworthy item would be that there is an Auto Attendant handling all calls in, yet there are two paths to the Support Line. It is reachable either via an option in the attendant, or through a DID.

Thanks,

Many service providers will not allow you to pass out a CLI that is not part of your DID range and will replace it with the default CLI of you trunk circuit. For example I call into your business using a phone that presents 01234 567890 as its CLI the system recieves this and forwards the call out to line via the SSC even if programmed correctly to send this CLI to line the service provider sees the system attempt to make a call out using CLI 01234 567890 as this is not part of that circuits range of numbers it strips the CLI off and replaces it with a valid one.

My first port of call would be to speak to your trunk service provider to find out if they will allow this to be done.

Bobcheese,

Excellent advice. I did check with my carrier, and they are not blocking digits unassigned to the DID range. So I must be missing something in the COS. I've spent about 6 hours querying the web, and let's face it... the admin help is not specific enough for this issue. If you've seen how to do this, I would be in your debt.

Thanks,

there are a couple of things you could check. The first thing that we need to know is how the PRI is connected to the system (this determines how it is programmed). Does it plug into the controller direct or via an NSU?

If direct then there is an option in protocol assignment 'replace external CLID' this should be unticked,

This one part of your original statement leads me to believe, like bobcheese said earlier, that this is a telco issue. Irregardless of what they told you, it appears this is not the case. You should test this for sure by changing the assigned outbound CLID to an extension that is a bogus number (your home number, cell phone, time&temp) that currently has a working DID CLID being presented and make a call from that extension and verify it is showing the number you assigned to it. If it is, then it is something in the Mitel that is not passing the CLID through, if it is NOT showing the CLID you assigned but the main number of the PRI, this is a telco issue.

This would be the first thing I would try to verify what the real problem is.

bobcheese,

The PRI is terminated directly into a dual PRI card into the controller. You were correct in the Protocol assignment form. THANK YOU. I'm in your debt sir.

Acejavelin,
Thank you for your assistance. I'm doing Associated DN CPN substituting. I modified an extension to show my cell phone on the outbound, and that did work.

Thank you everyone for your assistance!!
