Location: Southeastern Minnesota Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Problem setting wakeups/programming on older SX2000 I have a customer with an older Mitel SX-2000 PBX (LW24 I think) that is having problems setting wakeups from the console, whenever we try to set it for a guest room, it says "Database is locked by INSTALLER" in the display and exits out, but if we disconnect the Dataset for the Opera PMS interface, we can use the console as would be expected, reconnect the PMS interface and everytime we get the database locked message. I also cannot access any forms for programming when the PMS interface is active, it gives the same message that the database is locked by installer. BTW, this is a new PMS system and they never had a wake-up RAD before either. Is there some kind of additional programming or change that needs to be done to allow these to operate together, like on Nortel PBX's there is a multi-user option that allows multiple users to be accessing the database at one time? I have another site with a somewhat newer SX-2000 (LW29) with the same Opera PMS system and it does the same thing at times, but usually retrying it 2 or 3 times lets you in to a programming form or use the Guest Room function, but when setting a wake-up or in programming, the PBX NAK's all PMS messages until the console is out of the Guest Room function or the current programming form is exited. Any ideas??? __________________ Telephony users cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain a useful feature, a feature of equal value must be lost. Rep Power: 5 ![]() | This happens when the PMS link is trying to write to forms (normally during check in/out). It has a higher level assigned to it than a terminal user and therefore locks the forms. Is this all forms or just ones associated with PMS (teldir, Sta serv, etc)? Sounds to me like the PMS is constanlty writing to database therefore locking anyone else out.

Location: Southeastern Minnesota Rep Power: 2 ![]() | It seems to be some station related forms and teldir as you said, although it seems like it happens to most forms, the ones I tried today well onsite were System Speed Dial, Hunt Groups, and ONS Assignment, but I could open them READ ONLY anytime. The interesting part is even when the only activity is the "heartbeat" signal (AREYOUTHERE) is locks me out of the forms on the older system but the biggest issue is they cannot set wakeup calls... I think I might call the Opera technician that installed this a few weeks ago, he made the mistake of giving me his direct cell phone number. Also, I am going to see if Opera can send the wakeup information via the PMS interface, right now those options are grayed out in the Opera operators screens. __________________ Telephony users cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. Rep Power: 5 ![]() | I have worked on some SX2000's & 3300's (some running opera) where the <areyouthere> heartbeat isn't sent so what happens is that when the link is idle the connection is dropped and then when an event happens (check in/out, wakeup, room status) the link springs back into life and passes the message then drops again. May be worth asking them about this.

Location: Southeastern Minnesota Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Good idea... your right, I have seen other configurations of Mitel's PBX's where there is no <areyouthere> heartbeat and it still worked fine, will look into it this week and let you know what I find. __________________ Telephony users cannot gain anything without first giving something in return.
