Cool mitel imagination Series Information

Hi all,

Haven't been on this site for a number of years, well since I stoped using the definity system myt company used.

Well it looks like I might be using a mitel imagination Series pbx next. Looking around the building, we have no software nor manuals for this system. just the pbx and phones and ports.

I dont know what cards the phone system has in it as of yet either.
Just wondering if this will be suitable to use to get us started before we can afford a better system.

If anyone can point me in the right direction of manuals or software, please let me know.

thanks
Garvey

I had never heard of this product so I looked over Mitel's website and found no information at all on this system (documentation, technical information, etc) so either this product was never offered in the US or it is so old that all references to it have been removed from Mitel's website.

I did some Google searches for this product and found a few sales brochure references (and it looks OLD) but no manuals there or on any of the common telecom manual repository sites.

Hopefully another user can assist you.

The Imagination is an old TDM/ISDN key system. We still maintain a few but they are on thier last legs to be honest. The main board comes with 9 digital ports to which you can connect either 2 keyphones (isdn terminals) or 1 x BRI trunks. There was also expansion cards to add analogue or isdn ports.

In my opinion if its working then run it until it causes more problems than its worth (if that goes to form I'll give it about 2 weeks!)

I may have programming maps etc somewhere. I'll have a look and post back.

Agree - I've been looking for my old software etc but I think I might have binned it - I remember you needed an ISDN card for the s/w to connect.

I vaguely remember one other "funny" ..there was a switch on the phones which selected the B channel and I think I'm right in saying you could get them confused by selecting certain b channels on certain phones, sorry to be vague as it's about 10 years ago - moral is be careful if you're fiddling.
