Location: WI Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I have 3 3300 systems in 3 geographically separated locations. I have an existing group at location 2 that is set to "Ring All" (15xx extensions). I have a request to add 2 additional members (37xx extensions) located at location 1. Entering the 4 digit extention directly to the ring group member area returns "directory number is invalid". Any thoughts on how I can accomplish this? Here is an excerpt from the help regarding ring groups: Conditions

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I'll take a shot at it! I assume that the hunt group (type ring group) is programmed on the switch at location 2, and therefore it does not allow the 37#s as they are not extensions programmed on it. I'll need more time to think about it, or someone else will give better advice, but i 'll throw out a coule of ideas. - not sure if it would allow you to set up a speed call / abreviated dial # to the DN at the other location, then enter the speed call # in the hunt group - lijely not allowed, but your quote from the docs doesn't mention it as valid or not. If the phones at location 1 where local off of the location 2 switch, through teleworker, or remote registration through the company lan/wan, then they should be OK. do you call bewteen locations using the PSTN or IP trunking over your data network?

Rep Power: 5 ![]() | its in the help file, last line, RDN (Remote Directory Numbers) cannot be added to a ring group. Even if you manage to 'fudge' it by using speedcalls or external diverts i doubt it will work as you would like. There is bound to be a delay which would mean that a call could be answered on the primary site before it begins to ring at the 2nd site.

Location: WI Rep Power: 0 ![]() | We were able to configure a workaround. Location 2 has the ring group (A), we added an overflow point that points to Location 1 (new ring group B). RG B has an overflow point back to Location 2 as in the original. This is not ideal, but it does serve a purpose for us. Thanks for your reply!
