CXi

I have two netgear L2 switches with 2 uplonk ports that I want to daisy chain to my CXi for use of Mitel Ip Phones only but when I connected the netgear port 26 on to port 17 of my CXi and link the second netgear switch port 25 to port 25 of the other, all the CXi L2 LEDs kept jiterring and the IP phones stopped at DHCP discovery or sometimes on "using option 125". I disabled the CXi ports 9 to 16 thinking that it has to do with POE budget.

I did not configure the netgear switches at all

Has anyone done this or similar connection connections before

have you tried uplinking using the single 10/100/1000Mb LAN port rather than one of the layer 2 switch ports?

Yes am using port 17 which is LAN port of the CXi. Well the jittering has stopped but occasionally the IP phones connected to the second Netgear switch would go out of service. Should one reconfigure these switches as am using the defaults
