Has anyone has any experience with the new 5224 compare to the 5220? Any issue with it? Does the 5224 have the ability to auto-negotiate between half and full duplex on a 10/100mbs network?

From what I can gathered, all Mitel phones have the ability to auto-negotiate but some can do it only on a 10Base-T network and not on a 10/100mbs network.

The 5001, 5005, 5201, and 5207 phones are the ones that can negotiate only on a 10Base-T network.

I cant see you having the same problems with the 5224's as with the low end sets. The 5224 ports are 10/100Mb so should be fine. 5220's auto neg to 100Mb so no reason why the 5224 shouldn't

Don't know if you've got any yet but you won't get any problems wit hthe 5224 in this respect - its a good addition to the set range

I just ordered two today. Should be here in a few days. Now I need to know to replace the current two 5207's with these new 5224's without messing anything up. Thanks!

What controller are you using? On the 3300 this will be easy - use the Multiline Set Assignment form and go to the extension you are swapping out. Simply change the device type and then swap the phone. The extension number, programmed keys and any hunt groups etc will all move over to the new set.

The only time you need to be careful doing it this way is if you are putting in a new set that has less keys than the old one - you can lose some programmed keys if there are less available buttons on the new set

I haven't seen an SX2000 for a while but it should be similar. Let me know how you get on.

5224's are fine for full auto negotiation, the only issue I have seen is on some older Cisco L2 switches as they had problem with auto negotiation to anything. IOS upgrade fixed it from what I remember.
