External Voicemail Notification and Personal Contacts

We are in the process of upgrading our Mitel to an SX-200 ICP (Release 4.0). Two issues have come up.

1) Voicemail notification to an external number (cell phone, etc.): After a voicemail is left, the cell phone that is set to receive the notification will ring once and then hang up. The way that I understand this should work is that the system should ring the external number, allow you to answer, and then prompt you to login into your mailbox. I talked with a Mitel tech, and he said that this is a known bug that should be fixed around May. Does anyone know of a workaround (increasing timers, etc.)?

2) Personal contacts feature: When the caller goes to the voicemail recording and hears "Press 2 to reach my cell phone" the system correctly forwards the call to the cell. Is there a way to send the original callers caller ID to the cell, for call screening, instead of getting the systems caller ID?

Point 1 is not a bug (from what I am told by Mitel Tech) for the 3300 embeded vmail. I am assuming its the same for the sx200. It has worked that way for as long as i can remember and mitel always reply with the same answer 'that is all it is ment to do. It is a message waiting indication not a message delivery' it does the same thing if you set the destination as an internal number also rings once then hangs up.

I called tech support again regarding item #1, and this is what he told me:

1) Get into Voicemail as admin
2) Select 5, then 9, and then 1 for supervised transfer.
3) Set the timer to 30 seconds
4) Select 9 and then 2
5) Hang up

This seems to work and when it calls you, you are placed in your mail box and not just hung up on after one ring.

Still working on item #2. The suggestion that was given was to try turning CPN off in the Mitel.

As for point 2 i dont think you will be able to do this. extract from Mitel 3300 V8 release notes:

If an extension has Call Forward Always set to an external destination and the incoming CPN
information (i.e. the calling party) is sent to the CO, then these calls are rejected by the PSTN as
the CPN information is not part of the range allocated to the customer.

Point 1 - It is possible to get a 3300 to ring you for upto I think 90 secs before the supervised transfer fails. This actually works fine and if you answer the call you are connected to your VM box after entering the PIN. The big issue I have with this is it only the 1st message which causes a notification - i.e. as VM tansistions from 0 to 1, not from 1 to 2, 3 to 3 and so on. This means if you miss the first notification or forget to save or del the message you get NO MORE! This is not the case if the remote type is set to pager but unfortunately this type does only ring for 1 short burst and does not connect you to VM.
If anyone has any ideas on getting multiple notifications to work to a phone/cell phone, I would appreciate it.
Cheers

I understand what you are saying. I would prefer that the system notify you every time you get a new message, but I believe that we can work with this limitation as long as people recognize that they have a missed call from the voicemail system and need to check their voicemail. They also have to understand that they must either save or delete this message to continue to receive notifications. The latter part will probably give us the most issues, since people tend to start listening to a message and hang up before saving or deleting it.
