Mitel 3300 - DDI help?

Hi, i've recently started with a company running a Mitel 3300 phone and have been asked to assign a Direct dial to one of the extentions.

I have no idea where to start, could someone point me in the right direction?

1. How do i see currently assigned DDI number's
2. How do i associate a DDI with one of the company's phone extentions?

Any help would be gratefully received.

Thx in advance

ok first thing first (as they say),

Have a look at your existing ddi numbers and how they relate to the extension numbers. I.e ddi ending 7605 is assigned to 2605 etc. If there is a uniform method to it then it is likeley the numbers are mapped using the trunk service assignment form. In this form you set a rule for ddi's on trunks assigned with that trunk service number and you can absorb/insert digits to map ddi's to ext's.

However if the numbers dont seem to have any similarities to them I.e ddi ending 7605 rings ext 2364 then it is likeley they will be mapped using system speedcalll assignment form. If this is the case you should see all the other ddi's in this form (or at least the last few digits of them. Usually between 4 & 6) under the 'speedcall number' column and the ext they ring under the 'actual number' column.

To assign a new ddi look for a gap in the numbers mapped and add a new speedcall using the same format as the others.

hope this helps
